A heavy and long lasting snowpack this year made it possible to tick at least one day of skiing each of the last 12 months. These are the highlights.

OCTOBER

Daytrip in new snow at Blowdown Pass.

NOVEMBER

Lots of North Shore day trips in November to explore as the snow arrived.

DECEMBER

Cross country race on Saturday and touring on Sunday at Callahan Park. Explored the Hanging Lake Trail and took a sauna at the UBC Hostel in Whistler afterward.

JANUARY

A trip east through Roger's Pass, Kicking Horse, and the Icefields Parkway led us to the Chateau at Lake Louise. 10 Straight days of skiing and science at the 2011 Hypoxia Conference.

Spearhead traverse in Garibaldi Park over two days.

MAY

Climb North Ridge of Mount Baker and ski Coleman-Demming

JUNE

Ski ascent/descent of Rainier's Dissapointment Cleaver. One push with short breaks at Muir each way. Just under 22 hrs car to car (from Paradise).

Lots of traffic on the lower mountain but good views!

JULY

15 min of walking from the Elfin Lakes parking lot we were able to switch to skinning. We spent three nights at the Gargoyle Col. overlooking Atwell Pk. skiing and climbing in the area.

Just a few steep slopes to hike up. No crampons necessary.

Nice views of the Tantalus Range.

Warm weather made for decent skiing during the day.

We had a pretty fantastic view from camp.

The clouds lifted giving a nice view of the chief as we hiked out.

AUGUST

(Solo)

Semaphore Lakes is a quick approach (<1 hr) with a large snowy bowl on the south side of Locomotive mountain and only creek/tarn where skis had to be removed.

Put on skis right near Semaphore Lakes.

Skied the bowl behind.

SEPTEMBER

(Partner: Julie K)

A few laps on Heliotrope Ridge and a trip to the summit the next day. A bit of a stretch but still worth it. Coleman-Demming route still totally skiable with only a few small cracks to avoid and some rocks on the Baker-Colfax Col.

1999 Audi A6 Keyless Programming

To program the keyless remote entry fob on a 1999 Audi A6:

1) Insert Key 1 into ignition and tun on all but ignition.

2) Shut door, Insert Key 2 into driver side door.

-Turn Key to lock door

-Press unlock button once: lights blink

-Wait 10 sec

-Press unlock button again to program that remote: lights blink again

3) Remove key 2

4) Remove key 1 from ignition.

Saturday:

A trip to the ocean for bodysurfing and boogyboarding and more seawater to drink than I needed in a year.

The beach was packed for as far as I could see either direction.

Lifeguards were busy rescuing people and answering questions.

Sunday:

Despite some heavy storms, we made it to a slightly delayed Red Sox - Yankees game and saw them win 7 - 2!

We had to stop outside the stadium for some hotdogs

We had sweet seats and it didn't rain. We made it back to Burlington by about 4:00am

UVM started the Men's B race with 8 guys.

Darmouth took off on an early break two laps in and we followed.

Just the two of us ended up staying away the whole time. UVM 1-2.
We even had enough of a lead for a nice easy victory lap.

1st Race of the year.
77deg, light wind, sunny.
Approx. 90k in around 2:15 with maybe 40k of dirt roads.
Brutal.
Rode 1 breakaway for 15 or so minnutes.
Stayed in the pack until the finishing climb, 20% over a mile, then done.
Hopefully not last.
Very sunburned.
